UWFA Committees
UWFA has a series of committees that help it serve the membership. All of UWFA’s Standing and Ad-hoc Committees report directly to the Council. The list of committee members and terms of reference for each committee are available at the bottom of this page.
Bylaw 3.2 establishes the following committees. Each committee is governed by terms of reference approved by the Council.
- Executive Committee (directs the Association during the summer months and is responsible for personnel matters)
- Grievance Committee (participates in the grievance process pursuant to the grievance policy)
- Nominations Committee (participates in elections and filling of other committees)
- Finance and Audit Committee (oversees the finances and annual audit of the Association)
- Constitution, Bylaws and Policies Committee (reviews and recommends changes to the Association’s governing documents)
- Membership Committee (organizes social events and directs member development initiatives)
- Communications Committee (publishes the newsletter and oversees other Association communications)
- Women and Equity Committee (undertakes equity initiatives on behalf of the Association)
The Association also appoints members to serve on the following University committees:
- Three Labour Management Committees (Regular Academic Staff, Contract Faculty, Collegiate)
- Joint Employee Benefits Committee
- Workplace Health and Safety Committee
- Employment Equity Advisory Committee
- Pension Board of Trustees
